In his songs, Detleff Jones deals with the issues of our time - the important as well as the unimportant, he tells of our dreams and wishes, of aging and the happiness that can hide behind every corner, of the everyday things that we mostly do can no longer perceive them at all, but they can often be enough donors of great happiness! And of course love is not neglected either - this infinite and all-encompassing topic that actually never lets us go.

The intelligent, very sensitive texts are carried by beautiful melodies. Ballads, but also rock songs, clarity beyond kitsch and of course the use of language, as one has to look for it in pop music for a long time - make his songs a work of art that effortlessly manages the balancing act between art and mass compatibility.

Detleff Jones produces his albums mainly in Munich. His productions differ very much from conventional works in the entertainment industry. Each album is arranged extremely elaborately and is recorded by the best studio musicians. Therefore, there are usually several years between the productions of the albums.

A cross-section from the last two albums “Ich bin, wie ich bin” and “Neue Lieder” will be staged in an exclusive live concert on February 3, 2017 (Bürgerhaus Gräfelfing).

He will publish a completely different cross-section in November 2020 - not an autobiography, but rather experienced stories from the many decades of his colorful life, which he wrote down on 444 pages in his book “On the Way Through Time”.

Detleff Jones, born in Cologne in 1949, has been producing his own music for many years and also writes all the lyrics himself. His countless travels to the most distant corners of the world are often sources of his musical creativity
